Pregnancy Test: An Interview with Karen Weingarten

Lara: How did you get interested in researching the history and culture of the pregnancy test?

Karen: I’ve been writing about the cultural history of abortion and other reproductive technologies since graduate school, but it was only when my sister had a miscarriage when she was eleven weeks pregnant that was then followed by a chemical pregnancy that I started thinking about the technology of the pregnancy test.
